As a general rule for all new clients please allow up to 4-5 hours for a Colour & Cut service. We recommend clients to bring their own lunch in preparation.
Our products are not organic, though we use to ammonia free colours enriched with oils to help protect the integrity of your hair.
Yes of course.
We offer a consultation service if you'd prefer to visit our space and team before booking in your colour appointment. We find this puts every ones mind at ease and helps you to understand the process and the expected outcome, we will also give you a quote so everything is transparent.
We highly recommend a salon grade shampoo and conditioner. We currently stock Kevin Murphy and K18
For clients with coloured hair we recommend using a colour specific shampoo and conditioner to maintain longevity with your colour and to prevent brassiness.
We also have conditioning treatments that can be used on a weekly basis to prevent brassiness and tonal changes for your hair.
We recommend talking to your stylist for a personalised product prescription to suit your hair type and colour needs.
A Gloss is a temporary treatment that can help with both the health of your hair and its shade.
Glosses typically help with shine and evens tones. The Gloss provides shine and revitalises dull hair. A Gloss can be clear or tinted, and can be used to maintain or enhance colour.
Yes you need to confirm your appointment 48 hours prior to your appointment time. If you have not confirmed your booking your appointment may be cancelled and you forfeit your deposit
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you do not cancel your appointment you will forfeit your deposit and any future visits will incur a 100% deposit to be able to be booked in again
There is free 2 hour parking infront of the salon and along Conway and Dawson st. There is also all day parking just a few minutes walk down Conway street, We recommend this if you are having any lightening/colour services so you can relax during your appointment.
Please book your desired finish so you have time for your stylist to cut or blowdry if wanted.
If you wish not to have a blow dry we recommend a dry off so both you and the stylist can see the final result of the colour to ensure you are both happy and if any tweaks need doing hey can be done whilst you're still in salon.
No, as much as we love children and pets Ochre and Ash is a small space and we need to be conscious of our space and the impact they may have on other clients experience as well as your stylist.
Please no white clothes or high necks including collared shirts.
Probably not your best designer pieces either even though we are incredibly careful at all times it is a work space with lots going on, We are artists after all and we cannot guarantee colour will not get flicked around.
Please call the salon before your appointment so we can add the additional time or remove services you no longer wish to have.
Yes, whether it is a trim or a complete makeover we charge the same price that reflects our stylists incredible skills and time. If you do not wish to have a blow dry we offer a dry cutting service for our existing clients.
We will have to charge you for a dry off as this takes away time from other services and our stylists schedule.
